Stagnation of Qi and Blood for Ankle Pain

Ankle pain with a fixed location, which worsens at night, with pressure or on movement, with swelling and bruising laterally or medially, a history of trauma, limited movement of the joint, and lameness due to the pain. During the acute stage, there may be no changes on the tongue and the pulse might be tight or wiry, but during the chronic stage there may be a light purple tongue and a choppy pulse.
