Turbid Phlegm

Phlegm is similar to Dampness in nature and it also derives from deficiency of Spleen-Qi. The headache from Phlegm is similar to that from Dampness, i.e. it is dull and is accompanied by a feeling of heaviness and muzziness. However, Phlegm is more obstructive than Dampness and it clouds the sense orifices more. This results in blurred vision and dizziness which are not present with Dampness. Other manifestations include catarrh on the chest, a feeling of fullness and oppression of the chest, a sticky tongue coating and a Slippery pulse.
